How it works

As just another ordinary school day is about to come to a close, suddenly the music and thunderstorm sound effect is played and everyone’s ears perk up…

Use our script, clues, sound effects, and posters to create a 1940’s serial radio show during morning and afternoon announcements (can be done over PA, video system, or in-person) that will have your staff and students laughing and working together to solve the mystery.

Wadsworth, the school’s nighttime butler, has witnessed something suspicious but is bound by the Butler’s Code not to reveal it directly. Instead, he’s cleverly provided puzzles and clues that help you eliminate what he didn't see. By following these hints and the storyline throughout the week, clever players can deduce the final solution, save the school, and win a prize.

Everything runs in the background of the school day, never interfering with classrooms or learning. Each day brings new episodes, riddles/puzzles, and activities. You’re always in control and can customise anything, including options for daily prizes, teacher/staff appreciation, covertly helping students who could really use a “win” that day, full-school treats, teacher cameos to play classic Cluedo characters, and much more.

Nothing is spooky or inappropriate for any level school (nobody has been murdered with a wrench or candlestick, don’t worry!). With two versions, we have clues to ensure it works equally well for elementary or middle/high schools.

How much time is involved?

The instructions take about 30-45 minutes to review and customize for your week. Daily preparation requires around 15 minutes to practise the script, print clues, and display posters. No special props or setup is required, and you can easily have it up and running the next day if needed.
