How it works.

Valentine’s week is the perfect excuse to spread joy and fun, and we celebrate by focusing on classic radio station games and segments. The theme runs in the background of the school week, never interfering with teaching or learning. You can choose how much to do, with optional before-school and mid-day content.

Use our scripts, sound effects, games, dedications, music, emails, and posters to instantly create a radio-themed appreciation week everyone can participate, with different prizes for teachers, staff, and students.

Activities include:

  • Morning text-in school-related trivia where classrooms play as teams. You’ll be shocked how quickly students suddenly seem to love the start of school!

  • Tons of games and contests: Guess the mystery voice, Catchphrase callback, Daily ongoing clues that build upon prior days, and even an optional scripted “Prank Call” segment.

  • Parody shows of “The Office Ladies”, “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend”, “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me”, featuring your staff as the cast and guaranteed to add laughs and be the hit of the week.

  • Shout outs and “long-distance dedications” from students and parents “over the air” to their favorite teachers, who then also win treats.

  • The possibilities are endless and everyone will think you spent months putting this together, though in reality we’ve made it incredibly easy to pull off.

How much time does it take?

You can have your Valentine’s-themed radio week ready to go in about 40 minutes. Most schools simply review the plan, select their show hosts, pick the contests they want to run, and decide on simple prizes. Many use school privilege passes for staff and small treats for students, making it easy to run a full week without extra planning or budget.

Reviews:

“How have we never thought of this before??! It was such an easy way to boost everyone’s energy and we couldn’t get enough. DJ Jessi-Jet (my AP) and I have decided to keep it going with at least one show a week… we just can’t stop!” --Angela Peters

“We truly laughed more this week than I can ever remember. And of course the students LOVED IT! Attendance was up and I suspect this had a lot to do with it. Many of them had no idea what a radio contest even was, and everything was so new and imaginative for them.” -- Jerry Peoria

“Ok, my favorite so far has been Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me! We had two teachers competing who are both super competitive and their answers were hilarious as they tried to remember what happened just last week. Thank you and I’ll send some videos shortly” --Kayla Jackson
