The week begins with unusual signs appearing throughout the hallways: “JOIN THE HUMAN PING PONG GAME. DETAILS TO FOLLOW.” Not long afterward, Emerson, the representative of a rather well-to-do widow, interrupts the afternoon announcements and challenges the principal (or whoever normally handles your announcements) to play. Never one to back down, the principal agrees, only to discover the hidden secret and what they just started:
Each morning and afternoon brings another roll of the dice. At first, the game seems simple enough, then characters from books, movies, games, and pop culture start appearing around the building, and things keep getting… Stranger. And before long, their voices and sounds are coming through the speakers as well, and students and staff work together to identify everyone to keep the game moving forward.
By later in the week, familiar stories are coming to life, unexpected characters may wander through the hallways, and even the principal starts looking different. A full day of strange events then leads to a clue suggesting something else may have been happening all along. Is the game really behind everything, or has someone been pulling the strings?
Everything is designed to unfold in the background of the normal school day without interfering with classes or learning. We provide the scripts, sound effects, printables, clues, activities, and simple step-by-step directions, while you decide how far you want to take it. Keep it easy with the ready-to-go game, or because it’s Halloween week, add costumes, staff cameos, decorations, prizes, treats, and as many strange surprises as you like.
By the final day, students and staff have one last job: think back over everything they’ve noticed, decide who they believe is really behind the game, and help solve the mystery.
You are in control and can customize everything. Nothing is scary, spooky, or inappropriate, and we have different versions to ensure it’s perfect for all ages: elementary, middle, and high schools.
Plan on about 30–45 minutes to review the instructions and customize the week for your school. Daily preparation is generally around 10–15 minutes to review the episode, print or place that day’s materials, and coordinate any simple surprises. Everything needed to run the core game is provided, with no elaborate props or setup required. If you want to go bigger with costumes, decorations, character appearances, or some of the Day 4 “strange things,” we’ve left room for that type of Halloween fun, but those are completely optional.
“We have done Clue and Clue 2 (LOVED both!) but Stranger Things absolutely took it to the next level for us. The “Name that Tune” character version was maybe the most fun day our school has had in… ever?!! Staff got into it as much or more than students, and I know that’s such a hard thing to get right. Thank you for all the imagination and work that goes into these, they make a HUGE impact and I’ve been your biggest supported recommending to my district” – Monica Coleman
"We LOVED this from the jump. I grew up attending a church youth group whose leaders went all out planning and implementing games and activities and this just reminded me of those days, but you made it so easy. The types of connections that are built through these shared experiences are so rare in this age. You are like the Savannah Bananas but with you no one sits in the stands - EVERYONE gets to play! - Cindy Athane
