What is the experience like?

It begins as the principal and AP sit in the office for a planned “quick meeting” when suddenly there is a knock at the door and an urgent message: “You’re needed immediately. It’s… unusual.”

From there, your AP is pulled into an interactive mystery, moving from location to location, solving clues, and confronting a mysterious shadow who has been spotted on campus.

What they don’t realize is that the entire experience has been carefully planned behind the scenes. Staff members step into roles, lean into the drama, and transform the school into part of the story, all for them.

Everyone already knows the AP will save the day. After all, they do it every day. But this time, they get to feel the spotlight. At the conclusion, the AP steps into a scene as a crowd cheers their success, gets to laugh as the villain is unmasked, and hears from teachers and the principal how valued they truly are.

For fifteen unforgettable minutes, they wear the cape openly. And at the end, you remind them of something they may not hear often enough: To us you’ve been wearing it all along.

How much time or extra money is involved?

The instructions take about 15 minutes to read through and then you’ll want share the script and details with your cast (5 to 6 staff members). Nothing is complicated and you’ll be completely set with one run-through meeting a day or two beforehand.

We want this to be as much fun to put together as it is for your Assistant Principal when they run it. We’ve provided most of the props as printouts, though you’ll need to obtain a few yourself: a cape, a bag of Skittles, a newspaper, etc. You shouldn’t spend more than $10 or $15 for the extra props.
